Brio Tuscan Grille - Danbury, CT

This morning Lee and I picked up my stepson, Matt, who had flown in from Mystic for a quick bite to eat.  The diner looked crowded when we drove by so Lee wanted to try brunch at Brio.  What a waste of time, money and calories!!  First of all, we walked in the restaurant, which wasn't busy and stood there for about 5 minutes waiting to be seated.  That is never a good sign.  Our waitress, who was the only bright spot,  took our drink orders and food orders in a timely manner,  Lee ordered the Sicilian omelette. with smoked ham, bacon, sausage, caramelized onions, roasted tomatoes mozzarella and brunch potatoes.  I ordered the ham and biscuit benedict with grilled asparagus and brunch potatoes.  Matt ordered the Caesar salad with chicken.

Here's the deal...we waited almost 35 minutes for our food!!  When it arrived, my eggs had been sitting under a heat lamp for so long that they weren't even poached any longer and the biscuit was burnt.  Lee said his omelette wasn't bad, but it looked brown and over done to me.  The brunch potatoes on Lee's plate were burnt, but mine looked okay.  They just tasted meh.  I guess Matt's salad wasn't bad, but it was a salad soooo.  We were in a time crunch at this point, so Matt could fly home in his allotted time. We ate very quickly and Matt was smart to ask for the check as soon as our food was delivered.  All in all, not a great experience and instead of enjoying our time with Matt, we were on edge about the food taking so looong.  BTW, there were at least four cooks there.

Maybe dinner time would be better, but I will never go there for brunch ever again!!!  If we try dinner some time I will re-review.

Rating: 😞😞  The only reason there is even two faces is because our waitress was good.
